Call for papers for special issue "Mindfulness"
Four decades have passed since secular mindfulness entered the sphere of research (Kabat-Zinn, 1982). It has started as an obscure topic with very few researchers exploring it, but immensely grown in popularity over the years. Today, there are over 16 000 mindfulness studies available, with almost half of them were published only in the past six years (Baminiwatta & Solangaarachchi, 2021).
The benefits of mindfulness have been found in various clinical and non-clinical populations (Goldberg et al.,2021), which has led to the application of mindfulness in a variety of settings, such as corporate interventions for well-being, in education, in treatments of mental or physical health and many others.
Despite the fact that we already have thousands of studies, there are many gaps that remain (Van Dam et al., 2018). This special issue of Primenjena psihologija accepts submissions in the forms of quantitative or qualitative research, case studies, and systematic literature review or meta-analysis related to mindfulness.
The following list of topics may serve as illustration and inspiration; however, it is non-exhaustive as other relevant topics shall also be considered.
- Predictors of response to mindfulness interventions
- Adverse effects of mindfulness
- Mindfulness and mental health
- Mindfulness and physical health
- Mindfulness in schools
- Mindfulness in occupational settings
- Moderating or mediating effects of trait mindfulness
All submitted papers are subject to a double-blind peer-review process. The submission deadline is Jun 30, 2022, and accepted papers are to be published in Vol. 15, No. 4 (December 2022).
