Editorial board policy

The Editorial Board of the Primenjena psihologija is appointed for three years. It consists of experts for psychological disciplines described in the Aims and scope of the Journal. The members of the Editorial Board are committed to the principles of open science, supporting the transparency and openness of the scientific process.

The role of the Editorial Board

Members of the Editorial Board offer expertise in their special field, review submitted manuscripts, and propose journal policies. They work with the Editor-in-Chief to ensure the continued development of the Journal. They identify topics for special issues of the Journal or guest editor once a year. They should attract new and established authors to submit articles.

Members of the Editorial Board may submit some of their papers for consideration. To avoid conflicts of interest, it is desirable that editors does not submit more than one manuscript in Primenjena psihologija per year.

The Editorial Board has regular communication through online platforms and meetings are held every month.

The role of the International Advisory Board

Members of International Advisory Board are experts in certain psychological disciplines, who provide support to Primenjena psihologija and its editors by sharing best scientific practices with them. They provide advice to the Editorial Board on the progress of editorial policies, the quality of the Journal and dissemination of scientific results.

The role of editors

The editors are responsible for the peer review process and the content of Primenjena psihologija. The most important roles of the editors are to monitor the peer review process, recommend accepting or rejecting manuscripts and dissemination of research papers. The editors are trying to ensure respect of the Code of Ethics in Paper Publishing and Data Abuse Prevention, which defines a responsible approach to publishing at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. The editor should evaluate the manuscripts according to their scientific content, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political orientation of the author.

The editor should not disclose any information about the manuscript under consideration by anyone other than the authors and reviewers. The editor should endeavor to ensure the integrity of the blind review process. This means that the editor must not reveal the identity of the author(s) of the manuscript to the reviewers, nor the identity of the reviewers to the author(s).

The editor should adhere to the Instructions for Authors, the Peer review policy  and the Open science policy.

Peer review process

Editor should ensure the selection of appropriate reviewers, who are experts in the field of the submitted manuscript. The editor should select two reviewers, and if there is a discrepancy in their evaluation of the manuscript, invite a third reviewer.

In addition to the list of reviewers of Primenjena psihologija, available to reviewers on the Journal portal, the editor should use a wide range of sources to identify potential new reviewers. Editors should avoid reviewers who produce dishonorable, low-quality, or late reviews, as well as reviewers who express disrespect for author contributions.

Editors should require reviewers to disclose any potential conflict of interests before agreeing to review the submitted manuscript.

Editor should make all reasonable efforts to evaluate submitted manuscripts efficiently and in a timely manner.

Editor encourages authors to submit their research data to one of the open repositories before or during submitting the manuscript.

Decisions

Based on the received reviews and reviewers' advise, the editor makes one of the following decisions on the manuscript: A - acceptance, B - acceptance with corrections, C - rejection with the suggestion that the paper is largely corrected and resubmitted, or D - rejection.

The editor may recommend that the paper be rejected immediately, without a peer review process, if the manuscript does not meet the standards of Primenjena psihologija.

The editor should notify the Editor-in-Chief of any suspicion of misconduct or copyright infringement, in accordance with Plagiarism policy and Open science policy.

Complaints and misconduct

The Editorial Board recommends that all authors, editors, reviewers and readers carefully read and consider the instructions for authors and the Journal policies. Complaints and suggestions regarding situations not previously defined by the policies should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief on the email via: primenjena.psihologija@ff.uns.ac.rs.

Complaints regarding unethical conduct and copyrights are regulated by the Code of Ethics in Paper Publishing and Data Abuse Prevention of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Novi Sad. More specifically, complaints regarding plagiarism are regulated by the Plagiarism policy.

The Editorial Board makes every effort to improve the quality of Primenjena psihologija and minimize irregularities. However, accidental omissions can occur, and notification of these cases should be sent to the section editor or the Editor-in-Chief.
